⭐ About Travis Beck
I’m Travis Beck — an SDSA Set Decorator focused on narrative-driven environments for film and television.
Most recently, I served as Set Decorator on Speed the Plow, written and directed by David Mamet. Prior to that, I decorated two seasons of the Starz drama BMF, overseeing large-scale builds where cultural specificity, period detail, and layered authenticity were essential to the storytelling.
Across these productions, I’ve managed high-volume purchasing, complex vendor relationships, union crews, and accelerated schedules — delivering environments that are visually grounded, production-ready, and fully aligned with the Production Designer’s vision.
My approach is informed by a degree in photography. I design with an awareness of how materials respond to light, how texture translates through the lens, and how practical sources shape depth and tone. I think in frames — not just rooms — ensuring each environment holds up from wide establishing shots to intimate close-ups.
Earlier in my career, I led large-scale live and immersive productions, managing 100+ crew environments and high-pressure installations. That foundation strengthened my ability to execute at scale without sacrificing detail, discipline, or creative integrity.
I build worlds that feel inhabited and intentional — spaces actors trust and cameras can explore with confidence.
