Hi, I’m Travis Beck — an SDSA Set Decorator and experiential producer with more than twenty years of experience building narrative environments at scale.
Most recently, I served as Set Decorator on Speed the Plow, written and directed by David Mamet. Prior to that, I spent two seasons decorating the Starz series BMF, leading complex builds where cultural authenticity, period specificity, and visual density were essential to the storytelling.
My foundation is set decoration, but my approach is deeply photographic. With a degree in photography, I design environments with the critical eye of a cinematographer — thinking in terms of texture, contrast, practical light sources, negative space, and how materials respond on camera. I don’t just dress rooms. I shape what the lens will see.
I operate comfortably at both the creative and logistical levels of production. From full-world builds to the smallest character-driven detail, I translate script into physical space with discipline, clarity, and scale in mind. Budget matters. Schedule matters. The story always leads.
Earlier in my career, I led large-scale live entertainment and immersive productions, managing 100+ crew environments and high-pressure timelines. That foundation sharpened my ability to execute quickly without sacrificing visual integrity.
I build worlds that hold weight — environments actors can trust and cameras can explore.
